A coup de theatre is a sensational bit of stagecraft in a play that leads to a dramatic surprise. Well, we pulled of a fabulous one at the TelevisaUnivision NewFront!
The event was held at the Javits Center in The Pavilion. The only possible configuration was to have the presentation space is in the long part of the T-shaped room, which was long and narrow, and the after-party overlooking the Hudson at the top part of the T. But there's only one entrance, and it's at the bottom, so we needed to find a creative way to get people from the show to the after party.

After the final performance, our center LED screen started to lift into the air revealing the reception space behind it. The audience walked up onto the stage, underneath the screen, and into the party. The audience had no idea there was another space beyond the stage! As far as they knew, they'd have to walk back out the way they came in. We saw the look on people's faces—complete shock. Suddenly this glass-walled reception space overlooking the Hudson was revealed, and tit hit them: we're not going back, we're going through!

The entire experience was an immersive celebration of Hispanic culture. Once guests entered the after-party, they found a football field with live performances, a cantina with food, wine bars, and a speakeasy hidden behind a bodega for artist meet-and-greets.
At Proscenium, we make every moment matter. And when you can pull of a true coup de theatre, and produce moments of wonder for the audience, it’s incredibly gratifying and meaningful.
